New York Fashion Week: trends: Jackets

So I guess jackets are always around, but I think this season it seems that they are statement pieces, and frankly, I love it!!
Living in Melbourne, we are going into Autumn, (even though summer some how eluded us-wettest summer on record..!) and really we should be the Coat kingdom of the world. It is cold enough to wear them, and warm enough that it doesn't need to be made for the snow, therefore more style and flare can be played with! I will do another version of this in a street style piece. Just on these jackets though, it kind of reinforces (for me) how easy it could be for Melbourne (or Australia) to be ahead of the game. They show the fall collections as we are going in to Autumn. I know we can't get all these pieces straight away (or at all) but variations of them aren't hard to find or make.

So here you go..!

3.1 Phillip Lim
The length

Anna Sui
Embroidery

Carolina Herrera
Classic and elegant.

G-star raw
The Length, silhouette, featured pockets and the different coloured princess line.

Any one who'd wear this style, would mesmerise. It wouldn't matter how tired, sick or terrible you were looking, you'd put on this jacket and you'd instantly look amaaaazing!

The colour, the embroidery, and the two jackets together!!

The texture and fabric...grrrr!

The collar and the colour. (and the length and the cuffs)

Theysken's theory

Yigal Azrouel
The long cardi with a different coloured hood. I love it!

Zero + Maria
